Question: How can Jesus leave us peace, but also say He came not to bring peace? My question is based on Matthew 10:34, where it is saying, “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword” (NIV). Then in John 14:27, and it says, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you" (NIV). I’m just kind of baffled on that. Can you clarify this for me?
